Fish Audio Raises $52M Seed Funding to Develop AI Voice Models

Fish Audio has raised $52 million to develop expressive AI voice models for creators and enterprises, addressing a growing market need.

Fish Audio, a startup focused on AI voice models, has successfully raised $52 million in seed funding to enhance its offerings for both creators and enterprises. Founded in 2023, the company has quickly gained traction, boasting over 8 million users and an annual recurring revenue of $21 million. The startup's co-founder, Shijia Liao, a former Nvidia researcher, was motivated to create more expressive synthetic voices after being frustrated with the monotony of existing options. Fish Audio has developed a library of over 15,000 natural language controls, allowing for a wide range of voice customization. This flexibility caters to various industries, including gaming and customer support, with companies like HeyGen and Sanas already utilizing its technology. The funding round was led by Coreline Ventures and Capital Today, with participation from several other investors. Looking ahead, Fish Audio plans to introduce an audio understanding model and a speech-to-speech translation tool, further expanding its product lineup. The competitive landscape includes established players like ElevenLabs, but Fish Audio's focus on fine-grained controls and cost-effective training could position it favorably in the market.
